Paint-along: Paint a Tangerine in Oils/Acrylics

Paint-along with Laura to paint a tangerine in oils (Laura uses water mixable oils), or acrylics. The class includes the reference image to download and print.

Veggie-jelli Monoprints

Make your own inexpensive vegetarian print plate using simple equipment and readily available ingredients. Use your homemade plate (or a shop-bought plate) to make multicoloured prints on paper and see how you can stitch into them.

Handprinted Sketchbooks

Work along with Laura and Linda to handprint and construct your very own sketchbook. This one will be filled with pattern and colour right from the start and then they'll show you how to add more detail and interest with drawing and collage.

Single Sheet Sketchbooks

Learn how to make quick and easy sketchbooks out of a single sheet of paper. Lose the white with some hand painting, then take your book beyond the basics with some machine stitched construction details.

Folk Art Style Quilting

In this class Linda is making an art quilt that is to be displayed on a stretched box canvas. She quilts the stencilled sampler by hand using embroidery threads and basic running stitch together with tiny French knots.

In 31 Days of Art Journalling I’m going to guide you through a whole selection of techniques and approaches to help you establish a daily art habit. Each session is short and sweet to ensure you can fit it into your schedule.

Quilting Circles

In this workshop Laura shares her tried and tested methods for quilting circles. How to mark and quilt small circles into narrow borders by hand, then how to machine quilt larger circles without any fancy gadgets.

In this workshop Linda shows examples of both her own and Laura’s sketchbooks where cutting into the pages adds fascinating detail to edges or to reveal tantalising glimpses of subsequent or preceding pages.

Easy Transfers

In this workshop Laura will show you how she transfers text and photographic images to the pages of her sketchbook with a simple transfer technique using an inkjet printer. Please note this technique is not suitable for laser printers.

OK, we admit it, this might be one of our more unusual projects! Inspired by beautiful Georgian jewellery that featured painted eyes, Linda's been making handpainted charms. These could be used as a brooch, or even a statement button!
